Did you know China has its own space station orbiting Earth right now?
It’s called Tiangong, which means Heavenly Palace. Launched in 2021, it’s built from modules about the size of a subway car, linked together into a station as big as a large passenger jet.
Unlike the International Space Station, which has been around since 2000 and was built by 15 countries, Tiangong is 100% built and operated by China.
That’s because the U.S. actually banned China from joining the International Space Station… so China built an entire space station alone.
Right now, scientific projects from 17 countries — including Germany, India, and Mexico — have been approved to conduct experiments on China’s space station.
In space, astronauts test medicine, new materials, and even grow food—like lettuce, tomatoes, and rice.
It’s paving the way for Chinese astronauts to live on the Moon and Mars… peace.
